Australian War Memorial Eastern Precinct Development

Winner of the 2011 Sir Zelman Cowan Award for Public Architecture and nominated in three categories at the 2010 Australian Timber Design Awards, the Australian War Memorial Eastern Precinct Development is a testament to the timeless nature of design.

With timber at the very heart of its blueprint, Kennedy’s premium RFG1 grade recycled Grey Ironbark offers an exceptional finish to this sacred space.

Applied to the internal screening, exterior seating and wall cladding, the timber’s warm colour palette provides an ideal contrast to the surrounding structure.

The conceptual idea was that of a simple timber box within a concrete frame. The result; an award winning structure, rich in fine detail, honouring its environment.
